About Our School
Welcome to Metheringham Primary School
Metheringham Primary school is set in the heart of Metheringham Village and serves the local community and surrounding villages. The school currently has 272 pupils on roll and is growing. We have nine classes from Reception to Year 6, and we have a pupil admission number of 40. Our school has a number of mixed aged classes and our staffing team are skilled at tailoring the curriculum to suit the needs, age and stage of our pupils.
Metheringham is a friendly and inclusive school focused on teaching and learning and supporting every child in achieving the very best that they can. We aim to inspire our pupils through a creative and imaginative curriculum; we aim to encourage our pupils to believe in themselves and in what they can do; we expect our pupils to achieve their very best in everything that they attempt. Our school motto is therefore ‘Inspire, Believe and Achieve’ and we all work hard to live up to this.
Children learn effectively when they are happy, safe and secure, therefore all staff are committed to supporting pupils and their families to ensure children are ready and able to learn. We aim to ensure that children’s learning experience is relevant, exciting and purposeful and underpinned by the rigorous development of basic skills and knowledge acquisition. Throughout the year, we provide a range of after-school, lunchtime and enrichment opportunities run by staff and external providers within the community.
